Carpenter Show at Ohio Valley Speedway; Isaac Chapple Picks Up Win in BOSS Sprints

It was a Carpenter clinic at the top of the Las Trancas Super Late Model division Friday Night at the Ohio Valley as the Carpenter clan would converge to put on a whale of a race in front of an appreciative crowd. Father and Son, Freddy and Chris would set the front row and it would be Chris Carpenter taking the early lead with ‘Fast Freddy’ nipping at his heels and Brother Tyler Carpenter in tow. A fantastic battle between the trio would thrill fans for the races 25 lap duration. Freddy would overtake son Chris in the races late stages to park the C4 machine in Victory Lane for the first time this season. Following ‘Fast Freddy’ was sons Chris Carpenter, Tyler Carpenter, a very impressive Ryan Cline in fourth and Ronnie Mayle would round out the top five.

In the MPD Racing BOSS Sprints first ever series appearance at Ohio Valley Speedway it was Willow Branch, Indiana’s Isaac Chapple picking up the win. Chapple led all 25 laps in a green to checker feature where he worked through heavy lap traffic and held off the late race charge of Saban Bibent to score his second win in as many weekends with the MPD Racing BOSS Sprint Series. Following Chapple and Bibent across the stripe was Lee Underwood, Carmen Perigo and Matt Westfall. Twenty three MPD Racing 410 sprint cars made the tow to Lubeck, West Virginia for the tours first-ever appearance at the 3/8mile track.

It was all Coolville, Ohio’s Kyle Bond in the UMP Modified class as the driver of the sharp looking #10 Mark Little Masonry & Concrete/ Advanced Painting/ Bob Ashcraft Logging/ Total Lawn Care/ Octane Race Products/ Poske Performance parts machine would pick up his first win of the season. Following Bond to the pay window was current point leader Coleman Evans, Danny Thomas, Booger Garnes and Kenny Johnson.

Marietta, Ohio’s Lance Weppler would grab his first win in the Pike Street Lanes Sportmod division over the ‘Marshal’ Pat Garrett, Toby Wilson, Tom Sigler and Wesley Reed.

Newcomer Kevin McKenzie of Oak Hill, OH would pick up the Bill’s Auto Salvage 4 Cylinder feature win with a great late race pass of race long leader and last weeks winner Jacob Hughes to secure the victory. Following the fast lead duo of McKenzie and Hughes was Chris Wise, Bryce Bowling and Sam Dickel.

In the Mike’s Auto Body WRA Mini Wedges it was current point leader Logan Perine notching the win in the Young Gun division ahead of Farrah Bailey and Joey Miller. The Veteran class would see Mack Brookover grab the win over James Bailey and Tanner Ritchea.

Be sure to join us next Friday Night, July 9th as the Ohio Valley Speedway will kick off a big weekend for the Pike Street Lanes Sportmod division.
