Tyler Street Claims OVSCA Sprint Car 'Vapors in the Valley' at Ohio Valley Speedway

(Lubeck, WV) It was race #2 of the 2021 season at Ohio Valley Speedway on Friday Night and race fans were treated to a swelled pit area of over 150 eager racers. The Ohio Valley Management Group would welcome the OVSCA 410 Sprint Cars to the ‘Valley’ as the winged warriors would open up the 2021 OVSCA season and the running of ‘Vapors in the Valley’. A pit full of race cars in each class and another great crowd would brave another night of very chilly temperatures but were once again treated to some excellent action all night long. Picking up feature wins included Tyler Street, Tyler Carpenter, Coleman Evans, Sam Dickel, Reed Bishop, Miles Cook, Blake Tasker and Isaac McLeish.

The OVSCA Sprints would make their first of five visits to the speedway with twenty- three of the areas best, looking to kickstart the 2021 season in grand fashion. Picking up the win, rim-riding around the well-manicured ‘Valley’ surface was Tyler Street of Fredericktown, Ohio aboard the Vantage/Schaeffer’s Oil/ Berryman Racing Shocks/ Kistler Engines & Racing Products/ Triple X Race Components/ TruForm Race Products 4*machine. Following the very impressive Street was Jamie Myers, Hunter Lynch, Jordan Harble and Josh Davis.

In the Super Late Model main event it was the usual suspects at the front of the pack as early race leader Chris Carpenter would shoot out of the gate setting a torrid pace. In hot pursuit was Brother Tyler Carpenter as the ‘Kamikaze Kid’ would apply constant pressure throughout the early portion of the event. Tyler would eventually wrestle the lead away from Brother Chris and a few laps later disaster would strike for Chris as the driver of the 18 machine would see his night end with a flat tire. Tyler Carpenter would go on to claim the win over Tyler Evans, a closing Zach Hill, Ronnie Mayle and Harold Redman Jr.

Coleman Evans of Mineral Wells, WV would park his Evans Construction/ Dirt Disciples/ Lethal Chassis in the UMP Modified Victory lane. A superb performance utilizing the speedways bottom groove would allow the smooth racer to pull ahead of early race leader Booger Garnes to snare his first win at Ohio Valley Speedway this season. Following Evans across the stripe was Booger Garnes, Chad Roush, JP Roberts and Mark Dickson.

A huge field of thirty five Pike Street Lanes Sportmods would roll thru the gates Friday Night. With over thirty cars in the class, as the promoters promised double features would be ran to allow all cars to run a feature as a reward for their patronage. Picking up the wins in the Pike Street Lane Sportmod feature #1 was Reed Bishop of Bidwell, Ohio followed by Steven Dotson, Sonny Leek, Nic Green and Jacob Boyles. In feature #2 it was Wheelersburg, Ohio’s Miles Cook notching his first win of the season ahead of veteran Pat Garrett, TJ Arnold, Curt Reck and Mike Sprouse.

A great Bill’s Auto Salvage SCDRA 4 Cylinder feature would see twenty three cars vying for the guaranteed starting spot in the upcoming $2,500 to win WV State Championship event. A very entertaining race upfront between last week’s winner Justin Carpenter and visitor Brandon Gibson would set the races early tone. With Gibson dropping out of the event this set up a late race battle with Carpenter on the highside and Sam Dickel working the extreme low-side to perfection. A tremendous back and forth battle but in the end it was cagey Sam Dickel driving the S3 machine parking it in victory lane over Carpenter, Josh Ayers, Bryce Bowling and Kasey Rankin.

A strong field of twenty seven Mineral Wells Tire Center WRA Mini Wedges presented by Mike’s Auto Body would see Isaac McLeish pick up the Veteran feature over Mack Brookover and Aiden Powell. In the Junior class it was Blake Tasker besting Logan Perine and Coltin Johnson. Trophies were presented by Longshot Environmental Maintenance & Services, LLC.
